What pencil grades are best for comic drawing, and how should they be used?

A range of grades is useful. HB is good for light sketching and layout. 2B-4B are excellent for linework and shading, providing darker tones. H pencils (like 2H) are good for very light construction lines that are easy to erase. Use lighter grades for initial sketches and darker grades for final lines and shadows. Varying pressure also affects tone.
